We have just rolled out a new unified media player for the showreels when they are displayed online. We wanted something where the links could be copy/pasted into an email as well as Sharing on Social networking websites such as FaceBook, Twitter, MySpace.
Also by default the playback quality of the videos are SD Standard Definition, if you click onto the HD button this will then switch and play all the videos in razor sharp High Definition with better audio quality bitrates. We suggest if you have a fast Broadband connection go for High Defintion, if not just click again onto the HD button so it’s greyed out then the quality will fall back to Standard definition for you.
Sharing your showreel profile page on Social media Websites and email link through email

Things have been interesting in the past 1 year at Agents Choice. We have been busy researching and developing various ways to make the showreel service more productive and a faster turn around to the user. We switched from video cameras onto using the latest HDSLR still/video cameras from Canon. This meant we have a smaller package to film on, as well as the memory card coming out of the camera straight into a computer ready for editing. Nearly 2 years ago we rolled out the download ONLY of showreels, thus eliminating the need to physically ship out a showreel DVD to the user.
This resulted in a fast turn around, where the user would receive an email with the showreel as a Divx high definition video file. The showreel file would then be downloaded onto the user’s computer system and two options were then available on how it would be used.
The options were sharing the video on social networking websites such as YouTube.com, MySpace.com, Facebook.com by uploading the showreel file direct onto these sites. The second option we provided was that if you preferred a DVD disc version of the showreel you could put the downloaded showreel file onto a DVD using your own computer and the end result would be playable in a set stop stand alone DVD player and/or a computer.
We have been busy in the research and development lab at Agents Choice and playing about with the possibility of editing a showreel online using a very easy to understand interface so user’s with little to no experience can easily get started. This would mean that the new format of showreels cuts only, no fades that we provide users. In the future you would be able to log-in to our website and be presented with an on-line web based video editing application.
You could then re-arrange your edited showreel, add titles, fades, music and then re-compile/download a new video file with the changes you just made. This would be the ultimate in flexibility for users, so they can re-version a showreel for a particular need. For example you may be using your showreel for entertainment submission to a television network, and on your showreel you had serious news presentation. You could easily make 2 versions of the showreel a light entertainment and a more serious news piece using the other parts of the showreel.
